12 x 4 x 3/4 floating shelves, handmade from kiln dried mohagony wood,set of two

After 30 years of woodworking I came up with the perfect floating shelf. Unlike those that are inch thick or larger this is 3/4 inch solid wood. These shelves are made from select premium kiln dried sapele mahogany. sapele mahogany wood will darken over time especially if in sunlight. 3/4 inch lets people focus on what you are displaying not on the shelves. I kept the grain intact to help hide the seam where the wood comes together. There are no visible brackets or screws and they are easy to install. They will not move once on wall and can easily be taken down. These shelves are built to last. Those built with dowels can break.
Mounting screws are included. I designed these shelves with lots of pilot holes (every inch and 1/4) this allows you to get one screw in a beam and also allows you to center them where you want (this adds to the strength). Size is 12 inch x 4 inch x ¾ inches each. This wood was sanded with 80 100 120 150 180 220 280 then 320 grit sand paper. I put three coats of clear coat followed by paste wax. Different solid woods (red oak, white oak, Peruvian walnut, black walnut, cherry, poplar) I put a picture of a table I made of cheery with Peruvian walnut inlays and walnut base. This table was made around 6 months ago. I did this so you can see the quality of my work. This table had three coats of clear coat followed with paste wax. I will take special orders for different sizes and different hardwoods.
